Two Systems: God VS Sin

God has called out mankind to change its ways. Why? Well. There are two systems in process from the beginning:

  • The System of Sin, which equates to wages in Paul’s statement. It’s understood that wages are earned as sin is earned and leads to eternal damnation.

  • The System of God, which equates to a gift in Paul’s statement. It’s understood that the gift is unearned and leads to eternal life.

There is no Grey area there is only black and white. There is no lukewarm there is only hot or cold. There is no middle ground there is only the beginning and the end.

The System of Sin:

Sin is not just an action in which an individual engages in. It is a master which oversees those under its brutal system.

Romans 6:16 ESV states,

“Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?”

This scripture depicts the system of sin as those who are under the servitude of Sin and serve sin who is their master. They who are under sin are subject to their master, Sin, whom they are obedient to. Those who are subject to Sin yield themselves to exclusively serve their master Sin. This becomes evident by way of their actions. Their actions are repetitive in their reverent submission to sin. The repetitive nature of sin in these individuals is habitual and is unbreakable in its hold upon those in the grasp of Sin. What you yield yourself to you obey, thus you become enslaved to.

Under the system of sin you will earn your wages. The word wages in the Greek language is opsonia. Strongs Exhaustive Concordance defines it as, “Neuter of a presumed derivative of the same as opsarion; rations for a soldier, i.e. (by extension) his stipend or pay wage.”

Thus the compensation of sin is God’s due judgment. The judgment of God places the individual in a position of being eternally separated from God without the hope of forgiveness but forever being separated from God. Isaiah 59:2 KJV states,

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

Therefore those who are in servitude to sin will earn God’s judgment which eternally separates them from God and causes eternal death. Paul states “The wages of sin is death…”. The system of Sin has only one devastating outcome eternal death and thus separation from God. This is the reason why God sent his only begotten Son to suffer hardship and persecution and death upon the cross that mankind might obtain forgiveness of sins. The power of God through salvation is the only power that can break the hold and grasp of sin upon mankind. John 3:16-17 KJV states,

“[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

Child of God Sin will lead you to eternal damnation and eternal death.

System of God

Under God’s system the outcome is controlled by God. God’s system is originated from God and is made by God not man. God’s system offers graciously grace in comparison to the “wages of sin”. Grace in the Greek language is charisma which means freely given and unearned favor. Under God’s system we don’t get what we deserve but instead we receive undeserved favor of God. In comparison it is the opposite of wages which are earned. Instead grace is a gift that is given. That is why under God’s system John 3:16 is so relevant. It states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” In order for us to receive God’s gift of forgiveness God had to give His Son who became a living sacrifice for our sins. It requires our action to believe in Him then God releases us from the bondage of death and sin. Under God’s system grace You cannot work for what God gives you must receive it as a gift.

Under God’s System Jesus has become our mediator. John 14:6 KJV states, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” There is only one way to access God’s system, it is through His Son Jesus Christ. This requires a change of allegiance from obedience to sin to obedience to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus states in John 14:15 KJV “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” God’s System leads to a much better outcome however in order to receive access to it you must have a relationship with God. The establishment of this relationship leads to eternal life.

In contrast of the system of sin versus the system of God we see the following:

System of Sin System of God

Earned wages Free gift

Master: Sin Lord: Jesus Christ

Leads to death Leads to Life

Produces Shame Produces Holiness

Enslaves Frees

Child of God, the decision is before you right now. You are standing at the intersection of two systems one leads to death, and the other leads to life. One pays wages you cannot afford, and the other offers a gift you could never earn.

The choice is clear, choose:

  • the gift over the wages of sin

  • life over death

  • salvation over damnation

  • God over sin
