The Solution to the Sin Problem

How Salvation Through Jesus Christ Restores Our Relationship with God

The Bible declares in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Every person has a sin problem, and sin separates us from God.

However, Romans 6:23 provides hope: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” We have a choice to remain in sin or to receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

God, in His love, made a way for us to be redeemed. Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was the answer to our sin problem and the means of reconciliation with God.

The question then becomes: What must we do to be saved? In Acts 2, when people heard the gospel preached, they asked this same question. Peter responded in Acts 2:38, saying, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.”

Repentance is a change of heart and behavior, and baptism is the act of being immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins. When the people obeyed this message, about 3,000 were baptized and received salvation (Acts 2:41).

The message is clear: we all have a sin problem, but God has provided the solution through Jesus Christ. Now the choice is ours to obey and receive salvation.

What are you waiting for?
