When a ship is sinking, no one delays in searching for a lifeboat. Every person urgently seeks safety, knowing that time is limited. In the same way, this world is like a sinking ship temporary, unstable, and destined to pass away.
Scripture reminds us that judgment is certain, and when that moment comes, it will be too late to prepare. Therefore, the wise seek safety now. Jesus Christ is our lifeboat. John 3:16 declares, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus has made a way of escape for all mankind. Salvation is not found in this world it is found in Him. Judgment day is coming and we will all be held accountable. We will get what we deserve especially if we have not secured the safety of salvation. Romans 6:23 states, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Just as passengers must choose to enter the lifeboat, we must choose to come to Christ. The opportunity is available now, but it will not always remain.
God, in His mercy, is giving us time. 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise… but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
God’s delay is His mercy towards us. He is patiently waiting, giving every person the opportunity to repent and be saved.
Our Call to Action:
Do not ignore the warning signs
Do not delay your decision
Do not trust in a sinking world
We Must Be Ready to:
Hear the Gospel
Believe the Gospel
Repent of your sins
Confess that Jesus is the Son of God
Be baptized for the remission of sins
When the trumpet sounds, there will be no more time to seek safety.
Remember, the ship is sinking but the lifeboat is ready. Get in while there is still time.
