We stand at the cuspis of a new year. New is the operative word, meaning just beginning or beginning anew and regarded as better than what went before. As we look at this through the lens of our faith, we see God is a God of NEW opportunities and chances through forgiveness.
Matthew 18:21-22 states,
“[21] Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? [22] Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” Jesus let’s his disciples know that God is not rigid in forgiveness but rather liberal. Jesus’s teaching of “seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:21-22) symbolizing an endless capacity for pardon, not a set number; however, it’s understood that consistent, unrepentant willful sin may indicate a deeper spiritual issue, suggesting a genuine heart of repentance is key to receiving ongoing forgiveness.
So if we're not fruitful in 2025 or we failed in 2025, do not get stuck in the past. Use this transition into 2026 to begin anew. Therefore with a new year we all have new:
• Aspirations
• Blessings
• Chances
• Determination
• Expectations
• Fates
• Grace
• Heights
• Inspirations
• Journeys
• Knowledge
• Love
• Memories
• Necessities
• Opportunities
• Possibilities
• Quest
• Resolutions
• Start
• Triumphs
• Unity
• Visions
• Yearnings
• Zeal
